It turns out that a little belief goes a long way-religion and spiritual practices are associated with being healthy and the easing of stress. In other words, if you have, or find, a little faith, your body will thank you.
Well, of course, we all want freedom. When Michael Shermer debated Greg Koukl on the Hugh Hewitt show, he stated that, although he remains steadfastly skeptical of anything supernatural, he supports any religion or philosophy that increases human freedom.
Only moment to moment awareness, untainted and clear, offers freedom. Anything else offers no freedom. Looking forward, looking back, attaching to our thoughts, emotions, our problems and our selves, these only cause constant conflict and stress that can’t be resolved.
Meditation has become a part of culture of zen baltimore. It has been around for thousands of years, and so far, it has never failed to bring plenty of benefits to its ardent practitioners.
Therefore, it could really be helpful for everyone to have some silent moments to relieve stress, or to start a day with a more relaxed aura. Upon waking up, avoid watching TV, and simply enjoy the sound of the quiet morning. You may want to catch up with the morning traffic or the weather, but it wouldn’t hurt to avoid it once in a while.
